Ingredients:
Your choice of steak cut (sirloin, flank, skirt, ribeye, filet mignon, ect.)
Salt + pepper
Butter
Instructions:
Pat the steak dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.
Heat a cast iron pan with some cooking oil on medium-high heat.
Heavily season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides. Don't be shy with the seasoning, it allows for a nice crust to form when cooking.
Once the pan is hot, slowly place your seasoned steak onto the pan. Do not flip the steak more than once as you want to give the steak a chance to develop a golden brown crust (approximately 4 minutes)
Once flipped cook for about 3 minutes and add a generous spoonful of butter into the pan.
Baste the steak by spooning the hot butter over the steak for an additional 3 minutes for medium or 5 minutes for well done.
Take the steak off the pan and leave the meat to rest for about 5-10 minutes before enjoying.
*cooking times can slightly vary depending on the size of the steak
